This book was definitely different than what I m used to reading when I pick up an Amish story This one borders on edgy inspirational and a general market book I don t mind reading either genre but I didn t really care for the style of writing The beginning of the story was telling about the Amish than showing but as the story progressed it did get a little better There was definitely chemistry between Leah and John but it wasn t enough to save the book for me If you re looking for better bonne [...]
Great book Never heard of this author but she did an excellent job writing this book I wanted to read the end of the story to find out the outcome but had to stop myself.
It was ok just not what I like
The cover and title for Her Amish Man don t really do full justice to the fresh originality of the story line from author Erin Bates There is much depth to the book than the outer appearance would suggest Based on the book blurb, I expected a different kind of Amish romance, but I didn t know that the author would create a story which was so uniquely entertaining and involving When law associate Leah McKenzie sees her boss being murdered, she literally runs for her life Framed for the crime by [...]
This book is unbelievable, and nothing about it made me want to suspend any disbelief The characters are badly written, the plot does not succeed, the depiction of Amish culture may or may not be accurate but the way it is used in the book is odd Her Amish Man splits its time between being a suspense thriller about a lawyer who is being hunted by her own firm due to knowing a secret about monetary fraud, and being a badly written romance novel The thriller plot falls through for me due to the am [...]
Leah McKenzie has just finished law school and is working on her first job as an associate She walks in on her boss being murdered and is suddenly the suspect in a murder case She is afraid for her life and decides to hide in Amish country in Illinois where her estranged grandmother lives On the way there, her car crashes into a ditch and is found unconscious by John Miller who brings her to his mother s home As she recovers, the two find themselves attracted to each other and have to decide if [...]
I just finished reading Her Amish Man by Erin Bates This is a novel that is a cross between an Amish romance and a murder mystery I really enjoyed this book I thought the characters were believable and perfectly depicted I was not fond of the title of this book, however I was expecting not to like the book because the title didn t draw me to it After I read the first chapter, I couldn t stop reading because there was so much going on If I d declined the book because of the title, I would have lo [...]
HER AMISH MAN is the first book I ve read by Ms Bates She is allegedly a well known romance writer, and Erin Bates is her pseudonym I m not sure who she is really There is some bad language, beer drinking, and other things going on that one doesn t usually find in Amish fiction Also the kissing scenes got a little involved also something you don t usually find in this genre The suspense wasn t really scary, we knew who did it right away, and we knew they were framing her, so the only suspenseful [...]
She witnessed her boss being shot and dying in her arms Lawyer Leah McKenzie runs away after hearing lawyers making a plan to frame her for the murder and cover up a ponzi scheme She runs to her mother s Amish relatives and falls in love while trying to recouperate and find a way to clear her name.
Pretty good book liked it all around although I do wish that they would have stayed in the Amish world All of the Amish books usually involve them leaving and I would like just for once to read where they stay Amish I did however like the twist of the Amish Man falling for an outsider instead of the usual way around that it is.
I don t usually read Romance Novels but this was so much than that Part legal thriller, part romance, part Amish a good combination Read it in two days
I enjoyed this book very much I felt that Leah s troubles were very believable and, contemporary I loved how she escaped into another world It was a great story.
I liked it I m not sure about the ending and John s choice The ending also felt a little rushed. It s not really a Christian novel and pushes the boundaries a little than most in that genre.
This was aimless reading that was neither informative nor entertaining I read the book in one day.
Nothing brilliant but thoroughly entertaining.
This looks fun and campy so I added it to my TBR Hope it s not too cheesy
Her Amish Man by Erin Bates is a romance that is on Library Journal s list of best Christian Fiction of 2012.
Looking for fluff Found belly button lint Seriously, too simplistic to be an enjoyable read.
have not read it yet
Fast paced book easy to read.
