When I saw the description indicating that this book was described as a cross between Pirates of the Caribbean and Outlander, I was in And what a fun ride it was The story opens in modern times with Samantha on her way to meet her estranged treasure hunter father after her mom s death Although she doesn t quite believe in his work, she finds herself getting caught up in the excitement and eventually joining the hunt too When a rival treasure seeker pulls out all the stops to try to take over the [...]

Pirates Yes Time traveling Yes The beginning was painfully slow, I slightly had to force myself to get over it I understand that the author had to show us the backstory of Samantha, but she could have skipped some parts It would make sense even without them The protagonist, Samantha Greene, after her mother s death, travels to meet and later on help her treasure hunter father explore the Treasure Pit on Oak Isle In the process, she travels back in time to the 17th century She ends up on a pirate [...]

I loved this Time travel Pirates a dash of Indiana Jones sign me up Excited to read the next one.

The protagonist, Samantha Greene, helps her father excavate the Treasure Pit on Oak Isle, and, in the process, travels back in time to the 17th century She finds herself rescued abducted by pirates, disguised as a man to be part of the pirate crew, and, finally, engaged in a mission to protect Templar secrets Along the way, she meets, and falls in love with, pirate Tristan O Rourke Does she stay in the past to be with him or travel back to her present to the life, and time, she knows I really wa [...]

Ooooh a time travel book grabby hands Yeah, but wait, it s a Romance ugh But.TIME TRAVEL Romance What to do, what to do I MIGHT like itmight not all depending on how Romancey the romance part is Hey the Kindle version is FREE Snags it This dilemma has been brought to you by bookworm problems.

Never have I read or tried reading, to be precise a book that said so little on so many pages No matter what was said, it was glossed over without any depth or substance It felt as if the writer did no research whatsoever about the time she wrote about none of the characters found Sam s weird language or expressions mysterious On the contrary, the understood it all Let me put it in words Sam I m just you regular next door girl, I m not phased by all these cultural differences, you unwashed men. [...]

For those of you wanting a bit of a content advisory as I did before reading this book , here s a brief one, including my overall thoughts for the book I read about 75% of the way through, then stopped when it just was too much for me to enjoy SEXUAL CONTENT There was by the 75% mark one explicit sex scene, two or three near sex scenes, all including undressing, kissing, biting, touching and kissing body parts and exploration and the like I skimmed over when they started undressing each other, b [...]

Like potato chipsThis book reminded me of a bag of potato chips This is a fairly routine historical romance, mixed with a somewhat superficial time travel thread and a pretty good adventure story But I can t stop reading it Just like potato chips, when you know that they re not good for you, you know you shouldn t have another chip, and yet you keep reaching in the bag So I kept thinking, just one page, just one chapter, just one book And let the record show that yes I did in fact buy the seq [...]

I m a little amazed this book managed to pull out a 3 star review since I was not feeling the first 25% I normally would have quit however I was going to give it to 50% I m not disappointed in having powered through, especially after powering through the first scene with the time traveling protagonist There were some eye rolling and skim worthy moments, however the pace and story line did start moving in the second half of the book I will be honest and admit that in order to enjoy this book you [...]

This book was essential good but lacked something Will have to write a full review at some point.ohh yes, the plot was just not believable, even when she wrote in the past some people s reactions in the past just did not make this book make you forget that you were reading fiction And it seems that the author was kinda getting lost in her own plot or trying to discover and was making up stuff as she was going along writing the mystery bottom line it did not seem to me that the whole mystery part [...]

I love time traveling romances so I knew I had to give this book a try This is my first book by Kamery Solomon and I absolutely LOVED Swept Away The story, the action, the adventure, the mystery, and of course the romance kept me hooked throughout I finished this book in one day I couldn t put it down Samantha and Tristan are so adorable I liked how their romance built throughout and it wasn t this immediate I love you which can be unbelievable at times Also, pirates Pirates and secret treasure [...]

The beginning was a bit slow, just so much set up but its not the worst However, fall into a pit, almost drown and wake up to find yourself amongst pirates bring on the fun I loved Tristan O Rourke from the very first moment I thought maybe current time Mark had a shot but I forgot all about him immediately Samantha is actually a pretty fun heroine too Normally, I feel women are written as always being the weaker sex, whiny, bitchy, and just truly unlikable But not this time, I really liked her [...]

The beginning of this book was painfully slow I understand the need for a good backstory And if your character is a time traveler, it IS important to know where they came from, so you can appreciate where they end up BUT this could have been accomplished with less I just wanted a simple love story, with a little history lesson I think I got Swept away you see what I did there with the idea of what this book could be and slammed into the truth of what it really is.This book was not a horrible rea [...]

Mind blown Where did this author pop up from While not my typically preferred era genre of book, I decided to give it a try I have to admit, while rather girly of me, I was initially drawn to the cover picture I had a feeling it was going to be epic after just reading the first chapter It was admittedly slow for the first couple chapters but I understand now that Solomon writes with leisure and with everything leading up to an outstanding climax It was all so very worth it I started this series [...]

Pretty fun read but was just lacking in some parts for meWhile I really did love the setting of the story and I do want to watch the History channel show about Oak Island now the book was just packing for me when it came to some of the other elements mainly the romance the first half of the book has the two protagonists interacting but not enough for to read to me as epic romance Even though I did enjoy this for the action which I will say is written extremely well I just don t see myself finish [...]

If in search for literary excellence, here prob isn t a great place to start, BUT the story is fairly entertaining and the plot has some satisfying twists and turns There are of course a few things that I would like detail and description on, some things that I would change There s no real character arc throughout the story, but at the time I was looking for a quick n easy, don t think too hard read I definitely need some of those when I don t have a lot of reading gumption Good beach book

I overall didn t like the authors voice but I kept reading It was decent but for me not stellar Let me put it this way I won t be reading the next in line As far as time travel goes it was there but to be honest there was no tension about the travel itself It was accepted far too easily from someone that fought even the tiniest of fantasy at first The heroine didn t thrill me and I never connected If you want a beach read that is a bit good then this is for you If you are into Time Travel novels [...]

I decided to give this time travel book a shot And I was pleasantly surprised There was a lot of time introducing the main character Sam and her life in modern days Her motivations seem real, especially has she is young 23 and still figuring out life One thing I like about this book is that it ends Yes, life does go on, and there are books in this series, but I could finish the book and feel satisfied I am interested enough to read the 2nd onebut I m not in a hurry to find out what happens next [...]

So I found this for free on kindle store Reading the description of involving time traveling, pirates and romance, I was in If you are wondering about the romance part, I would describe it as mildly clean There are two parts where things are little heated one of them being a wedding night not detailed thankfully There is also one rape attempted Other than that, it was good book Now, to find a way to read the next two books in this saga

2.75 starsThe flow of this story felt a bit off Huge time devotion was given to Samantha s back story, which didn t have much payoff Maybe to set up next book The romance was slow burn but not enough spark when the time came Samantha was also pretty immature and had an annoying perspective at times I did enjoy parts but am disappointed because there was so much potential for this story

Halfway between a 6 10 Good light weight read, well done 7 10 Good solid read, something to get your teeth into This has epic adventure written all over it At times I found it slow going, but at others it was gripping It wasn t until I d read the preview for book two at the end that I decided to read on in the series, however. But I could see this series becoming addictive I got glimpses of it every now then the preview definitely enticed I m hoping the series will realise its potential.I did lov [...]

Good, but in my opinion it took too long to get into the main story I understand now that the author was trying to setup some of the back story for characters to come in the follow on stories but it was so much back story that I almost stopped reading this book It just felt like the main characters were never going to meet and get THIS story started However, once the story between our two main characters did finally start, I did enjoy it.

Great adventureThis is total escapism woven into a great adventure story The tale begins in modern time, then through a twist of fate the heroine finds herself in the 17th century being carried off by pirates This is a fast paced adventure that will keep you turning the pages to find out if our heroine returns to her own time period, or will she stay in the past with her newfound love.

Readers of time travel fiction have to suspend belief to a certain extent I had to do that a little too much for this book The story was fairly interesting, and the added mystery of Oak Isle real life Oak Island strengthened the story However, I didn t like it enough that I m downloading the next in the series.

This book is weirdly paced, the story is not particularly engaging, there s a bit of Insta love, and a few plot points that I couldn t get on board with Could also do with some serious editing Mistakes occurred too frequently and jarred me out of a story that I was already struggling to engage with Did not finish at 40%

Interesting spinInteresting spin off from the Curse of Oak Island which I love I don t like series books, however that end with a story half finished forcing you to read the next in the series immediately. This one I will consider because I enjoyed the writers style This was the perfect book to read while on my recent Caribbean cruise.

    Sandie Parrish

Swept AwayThis was a fun novel, from the very beginning to the end you don t want to put the book down for fear you ll miss something Sam or also known as Samantha has to learn to sword fight and how to load and fire a musket even how to fight with a knife Enjoy the ups, downs, and round abouts of the story.

Really good story It had its moments where I thought it was pretty cheesy but it focused on the history and story enough that the cheesy romance was a side thought It could have delved into the love a little giving their relationship a little depth but I m excited to start the sequels.

This was quite good, actually, at least for an unknown author First book for me, anyway, by this author, and I wouldn t mind reading the next in the series because the 2 main characters get to make a return appearance.

    Pat Raab

A search for buried treasure, a rakish pirate, adventure and death on the high seas, with a time traveler thrown in for good measure What could one ask for Quite intriguing, especially in view of a TV series about a certain mysterious tree covered island
