I enjoyed the approach of taking a non Angevin king character that is relevant to each of the major episodes in the history of the empire and telling those episodes through the frame of that character s biography and actions Not quite as readable at the prose level as the best historians, but still very solid Very much worth reading if you re interested in this period of history.
