I really love Post Apocalyptic and prepper stories, so was really eager to read this I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this I absolutely loved dual POVs The story is told from the POV of a man and his step daughter The man considers himself a prepper but during the apocalypse non of his plans go right and he ends up going through multiple plans whilst trying to survive He also has to deal with a step daughter who tries his patience at every step He does his best with what he has and I love [...]
Judgement Day is novel embracing two genres One storyline is prepper and set in northern Florida The other storyline takes place in Yemen with highly trained military personnel and assets and falls firmly into the sci fi genre There is an elegance in the way that Peters divides the narratives of those people in the know from those still guessing as to what has transpired and without comprehension of how complex the end of the world has become. It does take a while for things to really get going b [...]
I found myself getting very frustrated with this book I do understand that with these types of books, which I usually enjoy and have read many others you have to suspend yourself from reality That being said I found some of the characters to be very unbelievable and usually with these books I tend to be very very forgiving when it comes to this sort of thing because I like the book I definitely cared for only one of the points of view than the other I did like the setting of the step father and [...]
One third of the way through and I m still not sure who or what the invasion force is I ve heard meteors, Russians, Chinese, and some have speculated alien spacecraft There appears to be an associated EMP, but I m not sure what caused it solar or nuclear Story bounces between two POV Army wife in Afghanistan and husband daughter in Florida, both teams dealing with similar circumstances Two thirds through and I have to give up The story has become boring and I have too many other books to enjoy F [...]
This is rather trite apocalyptic science fiction It s predictable and totally unbelievable The characters aren t particularly likable and their developmentis weak Worst of all, the story is unfinished Although it doesn t end in a cliffhanger, major threads remain unresolved at the end of the book Kevin Clay s performance is quite competent His character voices are distinctive and appropriate However, I can t recommend the story NOTE I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for this u [...]
A gripping story This is a great scifi story for the prepper reader When the SHTF, the S really HTF Peters is former military, and it really shows with his detailed and spot on accounts of battle and the science behind this fiction If you re a fan of Stephen Konkoly or Tom Clancy, then you need to read this book.
